DC Reasi chairs meeting of District Level Armed Forces Flag Day Committee

REASI, NOVEMBER 30: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Charandeep Singh chaired a meeting of District Level Armed Forces Flag Day Committee, here today.

The meeting was attended by Dy.SP Mumtaz Ali, GM DIC Gurdev Kumar, DTO Liakat Khan, DIO Rajinder Kr Digra, ZSWO Col. Sukhbir Singh Asla, Tehsildar HQ Suresh Singh along with other district officers.

On this occasion, Charandeep Singh said that 7th December is observed as the Armed Forces Flag Day throughout the country to commemorate this day as an honour to the soldiers, sailors and airmen of India who valiantly safeguard the country's honour.

The DC emphasized that Armed Forces Flag Day remind all of us to express our gratitude as well as appreciation to the military personnel of India and to acknowledge those who layed their lives for Mother India.

Charandeep Singh said that need of the hour is to increase the contribution through various means like token Flags and car stickers.He further said that involvement of NCC, NSS, Youth Clubs and other Volunteers is of prime importance to celebrate Armed Forces Flag Day.

It was decided that wide publicity shall be given for generating donations.

It was emphasized that the funds so collected is used for the welfare of Defence Personnel.

DC asked that the Zila Sanik Welfare Officer shall provide/share the Online Link and QR code for the online contribution on this Flag Day . He also invited Ex-serviceman / War Veterans on the eve of Falg day to make the day more memorable to his Office.

He further said that there should be a contribution box in all offices of district Reasi.

DC directed District Treasury Officer to ensure the contribution of Flag Day from all the employees of District Reasi.
