Jammu September 7: Congress today hit out at the BJP for the ‘nefarious attempts’ to illegally take over the land of panchvakhtar temple for the benefit of some private builders and big businesses houses for the construction of a big shopping complex.
Party demanded that the culprits should be identified and project should be shelved, the movement over land row shall continue.
JKPCC has said that this is not a small issue to be buried by a simple clarification based on inadvertent error or regret but a deep rooted conspiracy with nefarious designs as rightly said by the caretaker of the court namely judge Suresh Sharma in the petition to the court.
Addressing a press conference here today, JKPCC leaders including former minister and vice president Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that only tender has been withdrawn but neither title of land has been cleared nor culprits behind entire conspiracy identified nor the project has been completely shelved.
They said that there was a conspiracy to grab temple land clandestinely and handover to private players for construction of huge complex along with parking and still there are clouds over the temple land and the project has not been completely shelved.
“There were vested who made the illegal attempts and simply by mere eye wash the controversy is not over nor culprits can go scot free. They should be exposed as not even a clerk has been booked for such a glaring attempt to play with the sentiments of the people”, alleged Bhalla.
Hitting hard at the BJP for its failure to come forward against the culprits when the JMC is directly led by the party apart from being at the Centre and running the affairs of UT directly under Central Government, “How can a PSU of Centre govt NHIDCL could enter into the deal with JDA to float national tenders and entire process was done in a hush hush manner without even a murmer or taking the stake holders on board and bringing the entire proposal in public domain”, Ravinder Sharma said.
JKPCC leaders regretted that some other religious organizations that are always on the forefront on such issues have either not come forward or not vigorously opposed the move and sought punishment of the culprits.
Former Minister and General secretary PCC Incharge District Congress Jammu Yogesh Sawhney, Mahila Congress president Indu Pawar, Ex MLA, flanked by Corporators Ritu Choudhary, dwarka Choudhary and Gourav chopra, secretaries PCC Neeraj Gupta, Sanjeev Panda besides others.
