Theatre is a supreme medium for artists’ holistic grooming, says Sapna

Jammu, Oct 18: The effort to rise in fame and glory in any field is always subjected to undeterred hard work with dedication, ethics and trustworthiness.

The online Kala Mahotsav 'Nayi Umeed Nayi Pehel' being released under Ru-B-Ru by North Zone Cultural Centre Patiala became a platform of glory for two senior stage and films artistes of JK UT signalling an era of fame and glory to the region.

Sapna Soni , a thespian maestro from stage, cinema and TV sat in interaction with Director NZCC Saubhagya Vardhan unfolding the success stories of the region vis-a-vis her accomplishments in all the fields of art.

Candid and humble, Sapna deliberated about her journey into the field of art emphasising on the virtues of the ethics, dedication and responsibilities required in the field to earn a modest space in the stardom.

She talked about her leanings and lineages in all the three fields as to how she chose the field as her passion at a very tender age and rose to become a worthy professional in the field having unending strings of awards, honours and accomplishments to her credit.

“ I hold theatre as supreme medium for an artist for its holistic grooming in art. My love for theatre is unflinching and will remain a burning passion throughout,” she said.

Having done 450 serials for different channels, in different languages including Hindi,Dogri,Urdu,Pahari and Gojri, she is the recipient of 2 times Best Actress,3 times 2nd best actress and countless merits awards in stage acting. 4 times "Young women Achiever Award" winner, Sapna also clinched the meritorious Best Supporting Actress Award at 4th International short film festival, Pune for the movie " The Need"

For Sony Liv and Prime Flix , she has done many webseries that include Avrodh and 92 hours , besides she has acted in six Bollywood movies also.

As a theatre plays Director for her ‘The kalakaars’, she has directed 6 plays and have acted in nearly 100 theatrical productions.

Mushtaq Kak, a well-known veteran theatre artist and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee who also joined the show narrated about his life as an artist, his achievements, the struggles and hard work he has put into his works.

Kak is an actor and director. He was associated with Shri Ram Center, New Delhi, as the Artistic Director. He has received the best director award in 1999 and 2000 and directed more than 100 plays written by different writers like Saadat Hasan Manto, Vijay Tendulkar, Sharad Joshi and others. He spoke about his journey, discussed the folk art of Kashmir, the language and culture of the state.
