Monitoring cell established in LG office for better coordination between officials, districts

Jammu, October 21:
In a significant decision to timely address the grievances of people, Jammu & Kashmir Government on Wednesday nominated Administrative Secretaries and Deputy Commissioners as Nodal Officers for facilitating speedy disposal of representations/grievances received by Lieutenant Governor's Secretariat.
Government has also established ‘Lieutenant Governor's Secretariat References Monitoring Cell' in the General Administration Department (GAD) for expeditious follow-up and better coordination with the Administrative Departments/Deputy Commissioners as required for disposal of representations/grievances received by Lieutenant Governor's Secretariat.
The Nodal Officer will coordinate with the monitoring cell.
As per the order issued by GAD, “For better coordination between Lieutenant Governor's Secretariat References Monitoring Cell and Administrative Departments, Deputy Commissioners, the need was felt that all the departments/organizations nominate Nodal Officers for the purpose”.
Accordingly, all the Administrative Secretaries and Deputy Commissioners have been nominated as Nodal Officers for speedy disposal of the grievances/references pertaining to their respective Departments/Offices.
It is pertinent to mention here that in September, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha had launched the J&K Integrated Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (JK-IGRAMS).
It was aimed to make the existing grievance redress mechanism robust and efficient and decentralize handling of public grievances.
JK-IGRAMS was launched on Pilot basis to have dedicated Grievance handling teams in each 20 districts, call centres to be operated by CEC-SPV from head quarters of Jammu/Kashmir. DCs the primary level of receiving, disposing and Monitoring grievances; maps nearly 1500 public offices in 20 Districts of UT.; available 24x7, with acknowledgement and feedback.
